WorldQuant University Alumnus Builds Tool for Doctors and Patients

Hospital lines can be long, medical records can get lost, and language barriers can make everything worse. WorldQuant University alumnus Ahmed Danjuma Haruna has a tool to help.

Triavi, an AI pre-consultation assistant, can streamline the check-in process by giving patients an adaptive interview in their own language while they are still at home. Using the information collected, the app can draft a medical history, flag emergencies, and rank differentials for doctors, giving them the critical information they need before patients arrive for care.

“The doctor has the full picture before the first conversation begins,” Ahmed says.

Triavi also can help after discharge with voice check-ins and medication reminders for patients. Because the app is not anchored to one location, it can follow patients when they switch health care providers or transfer to new facilities.

“The goal is continuity,” says Ahmed, who completed WorldQuant University’s Data Science Lab in 2022 and continued developing his skills as an artificial intelligence engineer. “We want to help as many patients as we can.”

Ahmed built Triavi with input from medical advisers at NeuronBytes AI, a startup that he launched in 2024 to tackle real-world problems in health care and other high-stakes industries.

“Our team pairs practicing health care professionals with machine learning researchers and engineers to harness the power of neural networks to drive innovation,” he says.

The idea for Triavi came from Ahmed’s observations in Nigeria, where he was born and raised. He heard complaints from his late mother about long wait times for health care, and he saw a dangerous lack of follow-through when his sibling suffered an injury.

Besides his work at NeuronBytes AI, Ahmed has assisted program development at WorldQuant University. Among other tasks, he designed the projects for the Computer Vision Lab in 2025.

“WorldQuant University helped launch my career as an AI engineer,” Ahmed says. “I am happy that I can contribute to new academic programs for the next generation of learners.”
