Finance professional Ria Mookerjee has an appetite for knowledge. She completed the two-year Master of Science in Financial Engineering degree at WorldQuant University in April 2026 while working full-time at EY and earning an investment banking certificate at JPMorganChase.

Ria, a senior associate at EY in Kolkata, India, says her WorldQuant University experience has given her confidence to continue learning and growing. Up next will be a 10-week certificate program at McKinsey & Company.

“What stood out to me about the financial engineering degree is how every course in it is deeply aligned with real-world quantitative finance applications,” she says. “It pushes the students to think like actual quant researchers rather than just learning about the bookish knowledge.”

Ria says she recommends the free, online, accredited program to anyone who asks.

“The quality of instruction in this course is exceptional,” she says. “The curriculum is rigorous and extremely well-structured.”

Ria started her learning journey with an accounting and finance degree at Shri Shikshayatan College in Kolkata. She later completed an MBA at the Symbiosis Institute of Business Management in Hyderabad and an Executive Program in Business Finance from the Indian Institute of Management in Ahmedabad, India. Along the way, she completed internships in corporate finance, foreign currency exchange, and credit risk monitoring.

Before starting at EY, Ria worked as a KPMG consultant and Techno India Group finance manager. She now specializes in risk consulting.

“WorldQuant University transformed the way I approach finance—from understanding concepts to applying them in real-world, data-driven decision-making,” she says. “It has been a truly empowering journey.”
