Jayshree Roongta is a lifelong learner. As an educator, researcher, and finance professional in Kolkata, India, she consistently seeks opportunities to expand her knowledge. She enrolled at WorldQuant University because she recognized the growing importance of data-driven decision-making.

“My experience with WorldQuant University has been one of the most transformative chapters of that journey,” says Jayshree, a faculty member at the Heritage Group of Institutions, an educational conglomerate in Kolkata.

Over the years, Jayshree has completed WorldQuant University’s Data Science Lab, Deep Learning Fundamentals Lab, and Computer Vision Lab.

She is now pursuing a Master of Science in Financial Engineering and is scheduled to graduate in fall 2026. When Jayshree finishes the program, she will join an elite group of alumni with four WorldQuant University credentials.

“What makes WQU truly unique is its mission to democratize access to high-quality education,” she says. “The opportunity to learn from a globally diverse community of professionals and students has been incredibly enriching.”

Jayshree says the Data Science Lab gave her a strong foundation. The Deep Learning Fundamentals Lab introduced her to advanced machine learning architectures and neural networks. And the Computer Vision Lab opened her eyes to the vast possibilities of AI beyond traditional data analytics. Besides learning technical skills, Jayshree has gained confidence.

“Today, I view challenges through a broader lens that combines financial expertise with data science, artificial intelligence, and quantitative thinking,” she says.

Jayshree brings these insights into the classroom, encouraging her students to develop the analytical and technological skills they need in today’s economy.

“The intersection of finance, technology, and data analytics is creating exciting possibilities,” she says. “I believe educators have a responsibility to prepare future professionals for this evolving landscape.”

Jayshree recommends WorldQuant University for anyone considering a quant or AI career.

“WorldQuant University is far more than an educational institution,” she says. “It is a global community that empowers learners to grow, innovate, and make meaningful contributions in an increasingly data-driven world.”
