WQU built the foundation for me

Raymond Oteba Clive was unemployed with limited prospects in 2023. He had beginner-level Python programming skills and an undergraduate degree from a local university in Kenya, but he needed something more. A solution came when he discovered the Applied Data Science Lab at WorldQuant University. He enrolled and gained the knowledge he needed. “WQU built the foundation for me,” he says. Today he is a data scientist and software engineering consultant with European and U.S. clients.

"I only had passion and also ambition to learn. WorldQuant University built the foundation for me."

Bhavin

I filled that gap

Bhavin Borkhataria worked for nearly 30 years as an information and communication technology professional in Tanzania. But he saw an opportunity to grow when he learned about the Master of Science in Financial Engineering program at WorldQuant University. Bhavin enrolled and finished the program in 2025. He now applies his knowledge at SCI Tanzania, an ICT services and consulting company in Tanzania. “I chose WorldQuant University because formerly I never had any financial education,” he says. “I was pure ICT, and I filled that gap.”

"I became resilient, learned new technology, and it actually gave me a new professional identity now."

I want to be part of this

Arturo Aguilar learned about WorldQuant University at a tech conference in New York and saw an opportunity. “I really feel inspired and I want to be part of this,” he said. After returning to Mexico, he enrolled in the Master of Science in Financial Engineering program and graduated in 2020. Arturo spent the next three years at a Mexican financial services firm and then launched his own investment research and technology development company, KaxaNuk. The name means “to seek and find the answer” in Mayan. This is Arturo’s goal.

"You are really doing something special for people that maybe you won’t know in person. But you are making a really important change in their lives."
